How Do Pregnancy Tests Work?

When you are pregnant, a hormone is produced called Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) that is produced by the forming placenta.  The strip on the pregnancy test reads the presence of these hormones and produces a result.  I prefer that most people should use a digital pregnancy test as it will clearly say whether or not you are pregnant as well as there is a certain density threshold in which the hormones have to have.The early pregnancy tests can give you certain false negatives or positives depending on the sensitivity of the hormone detection. Usually, you want to wait 1 -3 days after your missed period to test.
